FULL MERCHANDISE BREAKDOWN

Merchandise is one of the most important ways to gain a connection between the parkgoers

and the land itself. There are many ways for this to occur, from merchandise that goes hand in hand

with specific rides and attractions, to the overall theme of the land, or even with the entire park itself

throughout each land. One way our land will use merchandising to its advantage is interactive items

such as king’s crowns and swords. Much like in Harry Potter at Universal Studios, our land will allow its

parkgoers to choose their own style of crown and sword when they make their way to King Arthur’s

castle located in the back of the park. These items are what are going to set out land apart from the

others because the rides are all themed around bravery and strength, such as escaping the dragon’s lair,

and winning the battle of the knights to be crowns champion. Some other items that will be

merchandise are dragon themed items to go with the Dragon’s Lair. These items will pertain to that

specific ride and will only be sold in that area of the park. Going off of the idea only selling items

specifically to areas of the land, there will also be merchandise that goes with the Battle of the Knights

ride. These items will be where riders will choose their colors, whether they chose the red knight or the

blue knight, as well as items that pertain to the ride itself. Lastly will be the toy store at Poppet’s Place.

Poppet is a historic term for small human or child, which is why there is a toy store in this area. The area

itself is for the children, which is why it is located in the front of the land, and on the opposite side from

the Dragon’s Lair attraction. Merchandise here will be stuff such as stuffed dragons, knights, horses and

other animals that are included in the petting zoo area of the land. The main way for all of these items

to be advertised throughout the park is having the major ones on the paper copy of the map to mark

areas in the park where they are for sale, such as crowns and swords at the castle and the dragons near

the lair. Another way is basic, but have cast members carry them around and talk to the people, as well

as people seeing other people have the items and carry them around. When it comes to the crowns, we

are looking at the same effect as the Mickey ears has in Disney parks. The crowns and swords are iconic

looks with kings and the medieval ages, so people will be posing for pictures in groups, with cast

members, and with the various landscapes throughout the land. These photos being posted all

throughout social media such as twitter, facebook, Instagram, snapchat etc. will have other people

wanting to get the same gear and merchandise and pose for pictures.

Swords and Crowns : the crowns and swords will have many options, as well as different price ranges to

match the various styles. These will be a lot like the Mickey Mouse ears, the crown is a highly

recognizable part of medieval times, especially in referring to Kings. The plastic/foam sword is a way

parkgoers can have a take home part of the blacksmithing station , as well as the knights parts of the

land, without it having to be a huge piece of metal. The crowns will vary in materials used in creating the

crown, styles and sizes. The more quality the materials used, the higher the price. There will be a more

affordable one for all ages so everyone can get and experience the feeling of being the king, or queen, of

the land.

Price: Crown: $30-100 Sword: $25-100

Dragon’s Lair: Dragons lair will have stuffed dragons for the parkgoers who brave the ride, adult or child,

they will vary in size and prices, as well as style, more realistic or childish.

Price: $20-50

Battle of the Knights: The biggest draw with this section is the fact that they are based on color and

teams battling in a roller coaster. Thus allows riders to choose a side or team, and after choose shirts,

clothing and other merchandise to show which they chose and support.

Price: $20-50

Poppet’s Place: This will be full of toys that emulate parts of the park such as stuffed animals that are in

the petting zoo, as well as the stuffed dragons and other toys. These toys will be special to the park

where they can only be purchased within the gates or online.

Price: $15-75
