MAP/LANDSCAPE BREAKDOWN

For our land, King Arthur’s Acres, we would like to make the opening of the park a cobblestone
road that makes its way throughout the land with many different shops and dining options to
emulate that of a town square of the medieval ages. The main cobblestone road will lead to the
middle of the park which will be an open arena that hosts live events such as sword fighting,
medieval music, jousting, and other live events that will attract many parkgoers. The open arena
will consist of a fenced off ‘fighting pit’ type area where the jousting and sword fighting will
take place. This arena will be surrounded by wooden bleachers that don’t go up too high to block
passerby’s views. The main center of the park will also be surrounded by a blacksmith workshop
that will consist of a lot of metal work that can be purchased. The main center of King Arthur’s
will also have a petting zoo to the left side of it. The town square will have markets and gift
shops to the left of it that will sell seemingly authentic medieval merchandise. Workers at these
locations will be wearing traditional lower class medieval attire. Many of these stores and
buildings will be built of medieval looking stonework. Both woodwork and stonework will be
seen throughout the park as they were used heavily during the medieval ages period. On the
westernmost side of the park will be Poppet’s Place, a section of the park dedicated to children
and kids rides. Poppet’s Place will be where we use a lot of color in order to promote the idea
that the area is for children to combat with the natural tones of cobblestone, wood, and trees.
Near the entrance to the east of the entrance will be the Round Table Royale log flume where a
VR adventure will occur. To add to the lure of the round table ride we will use many suits of
knight armor to make the parkgoers think they are becoming a knight as the ride suggests. North
of the round table ride and still on the east side of the park will be the RED DRAGONS LAIR.
The red dragons lair will be an indoor/outdoor roller coaster that uses pyrotechnics and goes very
high up into the air. To add to the lure of the red dragon lair ride, we will make the ride
surrounded with mountainous terrain and make the ride at a higher elevation that parkgoers will
have to take stairs/ramp up to. Also, the entrance to the red dragon lair ride will look like a cave
that the dragon lives in. Inside the cave, fake skeletons and other dragon theatrics will occur in
order to give the riders a cooler experience. To the north of the center of the park will be the
battle of the knights ride. In it, riders choose to ride the black night or the white night roller
coasters. The buildings leading into each said ride will be black or white themed with a heavy
use of the coordinating color. The rails for the coasters themselves will be black and white
colored to add to the wonder of the ride. The harness for the rides will be black or white armor
accordingly. Just before the drop, the rides will stop and stare at each other before plummeting
down in a joustlike fashion. At the north most part of the park will be the King’s Castle which
will be double as a VR ride where you can meet king Arthur and also one of the main food
venues. King’s feast will be the restaurant inside the castle that will have the best food in the
park urging parkgoers to walk all the way through the park to get there. The castle will look as
authentic as possible with a moat and drawbridge surrounding it. The moat will contain live
alligators that can be fed for a price. The castle will contain real medieval artifacts that can be
viewed and learned about similar to a museum. Across the park will be Tosspot’s Taverns that
serve alcohol and tavern food. Also, restaurants will be found across the park as well as privys
(bathrooms). The main landscape ideas for our park are the use of wood and stone to try to give
parkgoers the experience that they are in a medieval land.
